California Exotics uses TPR (Thermoplastic Rubber) for this product, which can be porous, although it is nontoxic. Porousness is a problem because it’s problematic to say it isn’t harboring bacteria. So if you use this toy, you have to basically sanitize it every time. One buyer noted a change in the color, and that represents an issue, because odor indicates bacteria. If you get this item in a color like blue or black, and it begins to look like a different color, then you may be risking you or your partner’s health. So opt for silicone, ABS plastic, glass, or metal if you want something that can be sanitized more readily. You can only used water-based lube with this toy, as an oil-based one, or a lotion will cause the TPR to break down: leading to risk of infection. The toy itself seems smooth & shiny, and has an okay shape, but I’d just be careful and opt for a more assuredly body-safe toy in the future. One of the major problems with its design is that they made the shaft have an oval-shaped profile. This would normally be okay, except that it is perpendicular to the angle of your cheeks. That means your cheeks go up and down and the oval goes left to right.Additionally, the molding process on this series must have been lax, because mine had ridges and points on it that make it painful for insertion and removal. The design features an ergonomic handle on the forward facing part that doesn’t really do anything. It’s not a very well made or designed toy, and I’d nominate any of the California Exotics toys made out of TPR or Sil-A-Gel just be recycled and their designs generally be scrapped.
